The state Chairman of the party, Mr. Clement Faboyede, who addressed journalists at their secretariat in Akure, the state capital said the pary is requesting for 30 days extension.
The party’s candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede SAN got the judgment in his favour at the Appeal court in Abuja yesterday over the replacement of his name by INEC with the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff factional governorship candidate, Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim.
But, Faboyede said since the court has declared Jegede the authentic candidate, all activities involving INEC and Sheriff’s faction in the state which is led by Biyi Poroye should be declared illegal.
He noted that one of the illegal deal include submission of party agents, which has been done by Poroye.
He added that the INEC has also given Poroye’s faction the voter registers.
He explained that since the law stipulates that seven days notice must be given to a political party to submit its agents list before the election day, the election must be postponed.
He added that the law also says that a political party must be given the voters’ register 30 days before the poll.
The chairman, however said as long as the INEC has been dealing with the Poroye’s faction, its activities, with the court judgment must have been declared illegal.
