Residents of Umudike village in Dikenafai community, Ideato South Council Area of Imo State, were Sunday thrown into fear and confusion as they woke up to the gory sight of a murdered 12-yr-old boy, whose vital organs had been removed.
The deceased, identified simply as Ikenna, was a primary four pupil of Dikenafai Community Primary School.
He was said to have disappeared during the lunch break at school last Thursday, October 20, the Punch learnt.
The father of the deceased identified as Mr. Rufus, as well as other villagers, raised alarm after his son failed to return from school at closure and a search party was organized to look for Ikenna, all to no avail.
Days after, Ikenna’s remains were discovered beside the headmaster’s office at his school.
His penis, tongue, kidney and liver had been severed.
While it is believed the teenager was murdered by suspected ritualists, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, said the command is yet to receive the report officially.
