The Libyan airline celebrated an unexpected milestone en route from Libya’s capital Tripoli to Niamey, the capital of Niger.
A mother went into labour mid-air, prompting crew to help deliver her baby on the spot.
Passengers crowded around to snap photos of the unbelievable sight.
The little boy was fittingly named Abdul Basset after the plane’s captain.
Now Buraq Air wants to return the courtesy. The airline announced on its Facebook page that it wanted to give baby Abdul a birthday present.
The new-born has been handed a lifetime of free flights with the airline to any of its destinations around the world.
Based in Tripoli, Buraq Air flies to North Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
