Celebrated Nigerian artist Patoranking introduced his much awaited studio album to Niarobi fans on Wednesday night at the Uptown Grill. Dubbed God over Everything (GOE) the Nigerian star said it personifies everything about his journey to music.
The new album by the Nigerian reggae/dancehall star born Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie is targeted at different audiences across the African continent. So far he has visited Kampala and Dar es Salaam with plans to host similar listening parties in Lagos and Accra in the course of this week.
“This album is a masterpiece, it has got songs for everyone, for people of all ages and for all parts of Africa. I wanted to pay homage to my roots and also embrace the new school of African music scene that is taking over the world. I’m so excited to introduce it for the first time worldwide to my Kenyan fans,” said Patoranking.
The star who was in the country for a short period of time is on an African tour. So far he has been to Kampala and Dar Es Salaam.
Asked about a reported airport incident in Entebbe, Patoranking explained to Word Is, "Nothing happened, people just made it into news."
"I was just delayed not arrested," he added, "They apologized later. I was not denied entry I went in and I did my my press conference and shot a music video with DJ Shiro."
The My Woman hitmaker also decribed the perfect soul mate.
"She must be God fearing, no make up, no plastic, no surgery, i like them as natural as possible and yes they should be a friend," Patoranking described.
During the Nairobi party, Patoranking also said he is in plans to partner with Kenya’s popular afro-pop band Sauti Sol.
“We are in talks with Sauti Sol and we shall avail further information on the direction of the planned collaboration in the near future,” he said.

Patoranking broke into the limelight in 2013 with the hit single ‘Alubarika’, and has gone on to become one of Africa’s most revered artistes with his unique fusion of Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeat. He is famed for hits like Girlio, Make Am, No Kissing Baby and My Woman.
