LOS ANGELES, July 15 (UPI) -- Teen Wolf Season 6 will indeed feature Dylan O'Brien.
The MTV series confirmed the 24-year-old actor will reprise Stiles by releasing photos from the new season Friday. O'Brien's future with the show was uncertain following his injuries on the Maze Runner: The Death Cure set in the spring.
"Stiles is a big part of the season because a lot of this season's mystery revolves around him," showrunner Jeff Davis told Entertainment Weekly.
"We're going to see just what Stiles' friendship means to Scott, Lydia and Malia. We're going to see why exactly he's Scott's best friend, what it means that he's Malia's human anchor, and what his will-they-or-won't-they relationship is with Lydia," he added.
O'Brien sustained serious injures, including multiple broken bones, while filming The Death Cure in March. The actor was still recovering when the movie delayed its release date to Jan. 12, 2018 over two months later.
"I think he's doing well," Teen Wolf star Holland Roland told Hollyscoop in April. "I think he's with his friends and family that I know of. I think it's just a tough situation, but he's with who he needs to be with."
O'Brien has played Stiles since Teen Wolf premiered in 2011. The series is loosely based on the 1985 film of the same name and stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Roland as Lydia Martin and Shelley Hennig as Malia Tate.
"Everybody has a lot of reflecting to do [in Season 6]," Posey said. "You fall in love with Stiles every episode. It really makes you think of all the cool [expletive] that we've done with Stiles and Scott over the past few years, so it's really reminiscent season."
Teen Wolf has yet to set a Season 6 premiere date.
